The 2001 Spring Floods

The effects of Spring snow melt on the Cottonwood River in early April,
2001 U.S. Hwy 14, one mile east of Lamberton.

The effects of a 5-6 inch rain storm on the Cottonwood River, U.S. Hwy 14 one mile east of Lamberton in Late April, 2001. Three days earlier Hwy 14
was under six inches of water.

Heavy rainfall in late April, 2001 washed out the Lamberton sampling box and platform, but fortunately no monitoring equipment was damaged.

The same location after the flood waters receded.

higher due to the 5-6 inch rain event on April 23, 2001. This monitoring site was later washed several yards downstream due to the high water.
