RCRCA purchased 2 kayaks for the river trips. Here is a page with more information about the kayaks, some photos and a link to the kayak manufacturer.
2009 canoe trips have been cancelled due to a lack of water. The recent rains have been good for farmers & vegetation, but have NOT brought the rivers up to a level that would make for an enjoyable canoe trip down either the Cottonwood or Redwood Rivers & there is not enough rain forecasted to help in the few days we have before the trips were due to start. We are sorry for any inconvenience this cancellation may cause. For those still interested in canoeing but don't have a canoe, we do offer daily rental of our canoes for use within the Redwood & Cottonwood River Watersheds. RCRCA will be hosting our 2009 annual canoe trips down the Redwood and Cottonwood Rivers.
The
Cottonwood River Canoe Trip will be held on
Tuesday, June 16th 2009.
We will meet south of Essig
at the Cottonwood River
canoe access on County Road
11 and canoe into
Flandrau State Park, New Ulm.
The
Redwood River Canoe Trip will be held
Thursday, June 18th 2009.
We will meet at
Perk's Park on Lake Redwood and bus up to the starting point, where the Redwood River crosses CR 6,
and canoe to Redwood Lake
in Redwood Falls.
