Information/Education

The RCRCA educational program activities are intended to raise the level of public awareness and provide the most current information to all watershed residents.  Through the use of various educational components, farmers and the general public will be able to learn about the watershed project and how they can participate in reducing erosion and non-point source pollution on their lands.  Information includes continuing newsletters, updating written material, public meetings and events, as well as providing educational information developed for specific audiences and programs.

The following are some examples of educational accomplishments for the Redwood River Clean Water Project:

Development of an informational brochure about Holistic Resource Management (HRM)
Co-sponsored  Holistic Resource Management seminars 
Design, survey and analysis of attitude survey among watershed residents
Information folder developed
Radio interviews have been done on local and regional stations
Displays set up at local and regional events
Public meetings held

Co-sponsored storm drain stenciling projects
Water quality brochures distributed 
EnviroScape watershed model presentations
Presentations to various groups – CURE, church groups, Kiwanis, etc.
Presentations at township meetings
Informal breakfast/lunch meetings to talk with and thank those who are participating with the watershed project

Conducted meeting for Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisors and staff
Began work on an informational kiosk for Camden State Park
Installed Redwood River signs in Camden State Park

Children’s poem developed with sixth grade students and used on a bookmark
Adult bookmarks developed and distributed
